Veteran's Crisis Line 1-800-273-8255 & Press 1!

The holidays can be especially difficult for our
Veterans & their families!

Veterans returning home this time of year will be overwhelmed by just the transition from being active military to being a Veteran. Trying to adjust to being back in the US and home takes time and usually it can make the Veteran want to be alone so they do not have to face the task of readjustment. There are many reasons a Veteran may withdraw from family members, as a family member you can be supportive and help the Veteran stay in the social setting by just being there to help and ensure them in time things will get back to normal. Remember to always be very patient, understanding, caring & loving. For more information on how to help your Veteran come home to peace of mind go to this link...

Veterans who suffer from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) may have difficulty during the holidays as well. The holidays are full of gatherings from all over to going to many functions and having to be in a large group of people. PTSD sufferers usually have problems dealing with large groups of people, loud noises and socializing in general.

The new year can bring on extra stress in the way of it being the traditional time to change something in your life, New Years Resolutions - can cause anyone with social anxiety and PTSD to feel obligated to make a resolution while feeling they can never change how they feel or what they want to change the most being and that is to not suffer from the stresses that come with PTSD in the coming new year. As a family member of a Veteran with PTSD you can be of help during this time by just listening, understanding, caring and loving as you  have been all along, just remember that now is harder than usual for the sufferer. For more information on how to support your Veteran with PTSD go to this link...

Vietnam Veterans are more vulnerable to a setback in the progress they have made since being diagnosed with PTSD during this time due to the fact that it has been 50 years since the war and more information has been published along with more Veterans realizing symptoms and are just now being diagnosed. Below is information for Vietnam Veterans with PTSD.

VIETNAM VETERANS WITH PTSD...

-- 15.2 percent of all male veterans (479,000 out of 3,140,000 who served in Vietnam) and 8.1 percent of women (610 out of 7,200) were diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder in a 1986-1988 study by the National Vietnam Veterans Readjustment Survey (NVVRS).

-- Almost half of all male Vietnam veterans suffering from PTSD had been arrested or in jail at least once, 34.2 percent more than once and 11.5 percent had been convicted of a felony, according to the same survey.

-- VA statistics in 2004 showed that 161,000 veterans were still receiving disability compensation for PTSD.

-- A major VA study found that about 31 percent of men and 27 percent of women had suffered from PTSD at some point after their return from Vietnam.

Regardless of what era your Veteran is from there is always the chance of PTSD becoming a part of their life and yours here are some of the signs & symptoms of PTSD....

If you think your Veteran may be suffering from PTSD or any kind of emotional crisis please get help today by calling the Veteran's Crisis Line 1-800-273-8255 and Press 1 to speak to someone for any reason at all anytime, day or night, seven days a week, 24 hours a day! World’s most popular web sites!

Most popular web sites in the world – a favicon collage.

Favicons of The Top 300,000 Websites in the world was used to create this huge collage.

This size of the favicons in this collage is determined by the Alexa rankings meaning: the most used web sites have the largest favicons. Notable websites are Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Craigslist, Wikipedia, Youtube and others.

If you want to search for a specific icon in this collage you can do that at this link..  http://nmap.org/favicon/

To break this down to an amount of websites that is a little easier to comprehend, here is a link to see a list of the Top 1000 Websites...  http://www.google.com/adplanner/static/top1000/#

Just for fun I have added a picture of the Top 500 Website's favicons.

So there you have it, the most popular website in the world from The Top 300,000 to The Top 1000 and The Top 500 as well as their favicon. I thought this was a great way to show just how many websites there really is and the importance of the "favicon" when it comes to identifying websites.

Agent Orange Legacy - Living with Agent Orange

I would like to spotlight a wonderful group - Agent Orange Legacy-Living With Agent Orange.

Today I was added to a group on Facebook that supports anyone who is living with the affects of Agent Orange exposure during the Vietnam War. Agent Orange Legacy is a very well know website for advocating on the behalf of Vietnam Veterans who were exposed to Agent Orange during their tour in Vietnam serving our country in war.

They have extended their support to the Facebook groups pages as "Living With Agent Orange" with more than 550 members all of whom are very supportive, understanding and comforting. I had emailed Kelly one of the Administrators of AO Legacy today asking her a questions regarding symptoms of a couple of diseases that are linked to AO. I made the right choice by asking her, before I knew it I was added to the support group and welcomed by so many very nice people that were all open to my questions and ready to help.

If you or someone you know is suffering from exposure to Agent Orange or is the caregiver, spouse, child, grandchild or friend of a victim of AO I would recommend that you look into joining this group either on Facebook or at their main site agentorangelegacy.com today. You will be very happy you did and you will feel relief of so much stress, comfort, support and know that you are not alone.

This group and website shows that there are so many other going through the same feelings and worries you may be going through and they are feeling all the hurt feelings as you. It helps to know that someone cares and it really helps to just be able to talk about how your feeling. This is the place for all the information and support you need. Please don't hesitate, go to the group and site now, I am so glad I did.

Below are the links to the Facebook group page and the main website just click on one and it is all easy from there. They are an amazing group of people and are welcoming anyone who needs them to join now.

Thank you to the Living with Agent Orange Group and to agentorangelegacy.com for making me feel at home with an extended family who does really care and is always there.

New logo for Life Spot...

I created a new logo for my blog, Life Spot by... Angie!

I would like to know what you think of it? Do you think it represents my blog in the right way? I used the globe to signify my wide range of issues and events that I post on my blog. I chose the heart shape in the middle for the life part of the intent of my blog and I chose photo inside the heart of an adult hand holding a baby's hand to represent the bond in families as well as life itself.

My goal was to represent my blog as I intend for it to be: a place that highlights the little things in life that need attention. I post about events going on around the world and that affect every age group as well as families. I try to touch on many topics and break them down and word them so people like me can see how they affect us at our level.

I do alot of activism online and petitions, support Vietnam Veterans and their rights especially those exposed to Agent Orange.

I do many postings on parenting and growing with children. I support planned parenthood and young families up to great grandparents.

I can't list every topic I post about, it can be summed up as "Life Spot by... Angie" is shining a light on each of our little spots in this world how ever they may be or where ever they may be and helping to make sense of all of the senseless in life.

I welcome your feedback and comments, please let me know what you think.

Thank you,

Angie

Track Santa's Trip Christmas Eve!

NORAD tracks Santa's trip around the world delivering gifts to millions of boys & girls on Christmas Eve.

Why NORAD tracks Santa...

For more than 50 years, NORAD and its predecessor, the Continental Air Defense Command (CONAD) have tracked Santa’s flight.

The tradition began in 1955 after a Colorado Springs-based Sears Roebuck & Co. advertisement for children to call Santa misprinted the telephone number. Instead of reaching Santa, the phone number put kids through to the CONAD Commander-in-Chief’s operations "hotline." The Director of Operations at the time, Colonel Harry Shoup, had his staff check the radar for indications of Santa making his way south from the North Pole. Children who called were given updates on his location, and a tradition was born.

In 1958, the governments of Canada and the United States created a bi-national air defense command for North America called the North American Aerospace Defense Command, also known as NORAD, which then took on the tradition of tracking Santa.

Since that time, NORAD men, women, family and friends have selflessly volunteered their time to personally respond to phone calls and emails from children all around the world. In addition, we now track Santa using the Internet. Millions of people who want to know Santa’s whereabouts now visit the NORAD Tracks Santa website.

Finally, media from all over the world rely on NORAD as a trusted source to provide updates on Santa’s journey.

How NORAD tracks Santa...

NORAD uses four high-tech systems to track Santa – radar, satellites, Santa cams and fighter jets.

Tracking Santa starts with the NORAD radar system called the North Warning System. This powerful radar system consists of 47 installations strung across the northern border of North America. On December 24th, NORAD monitors the radar systems continuously for indications that Santa Claus has left the North Pole.

The moment that radar indicates Santa has lifted off, we use our second detection system. Satellites positioned in geo-synchronous orbit at 22,300 miles from the Earth’s surface are equipped with infrared sensors, which enable them to detect heat. Amazingly, Rudolph’s bright red nose gives off an infrared signature, which allows our satellites to detect Rudolph and Santa.

The third tracking system is the Santa cam network. We began using it in 1998, which is the year we put our Santa Tracking program on the internet. Santa cams are ultra-cool, high-tech, high-speed digital cameras that are pre-positioned at many locations around the world. NORAD only uses these cameras once a year. The cameras capture images and videos of Santa and his reindeer as they make their journey around the world.

The fourth system is made up of fighter jets. Canadian NORAD fighter pilots flying the CF-18 intercept and welcome Santa to North America. In the United States, American NORAD fighter pilots in either the F-15, F-16 or the F-22 get the thrill of flying alongside Santa and his famous reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen and, of course, Rudolph.

Once data is collected on December 24th, it is then pushed into the Google Maps and Google Earth so that families all over the world can also follow Santa.

PLEASE HELP & SHARE!!!

We are trying to get Christmas cards for Lucas and Juno!

You remember Lucas & his faithful service dog, Juno? Lucas is the 4 year old little boy with the terminal illness MPS. There is no known treatment...there is no cure...and Lucas's life expectancy is only 10 -15 years (go to his FB page Lucas Hembree to see more).

His service dog, Juno, is always by his side. Juno was trained by Lucas's father, after he rescued her from a shelter, where she literally was to be put down in a matter of another few hours. Together, they have formed an inseperable bond.

Life is not the easy, carefree thing it is for most children. The family has gone thru many ups and downs, in fact as Chester Hembree wrote in a note to me, "It seems like for every ounce of good news we get it's followed by a pound of bad news...lol. We've just learned to take what ever happens and make the best of it."

We at the GSDC would like to bring a bit of cheer to this family.

Instead of finding bills in their mailbox, we'd like to fill it with CHRISTMAS CARDS! Holiday greeting and well wishes from around the globe! .... and we need YOUR help!

PLEASE...could you send the family a Christmas card? Let them know, that they are NOT alone in this. Tell them that there are people who truly CARE, this Christmas season. A card and a postage stamp, could make such a difference. So please, when you are sending your cards out, could you address an extra one to a little boy, & his Dog?

It would mean so very, very much.

Cards can be sent to:

Alcoa, TN 37701

THANK YOU!!!!

We helped millions with diabetes in 2011.

A thank you from the American Diabetes Association...

Dear Angie,
What does fighting to Stop Diabetes look like?
It looks like 200 dedicated Diabetes Advocates storming Capitol Hill to meet with Members of Congress...Tens of thousands defending health insurance benefits for people with diabetes, stopping schools from discriminating against kids with diabetes, and more.
These are just some of the amazing things we were able to accomplish in 2011 – and all because of people like YOU who take the time to weigh in on crucial issues, talk to your elected officials, stay informed, and spread the word about critical issues affecting people with diabetes.
There's one more important thing you can do in 2011 to help fight diabetes in 2012: "Like" American Diabetes Association on Facebook to be the first to learn breaking news and get great tips and resources on how to advance the health and protect the rights of those living with diabetes. It's easy, and it helps!
With your help this year, we have:
  • Held trainings, planning sessions, and over 250 meetings with Members of Congress at the Association's biannual Call to Congress;
  • Participated in six Congressional briefings on issues ranging from diabetes research to launching our gestational diabetes bill;
  • Protected the Affordable Care Act's key provisions for people with diabetes and supported funding for programs that provide free gestational diabetes screenings for pregnant women;
  • Helped pass new provisions aimed at stopping discrimination against people with diabetes;
  • Campaigned against school segregation for children with diabetes, including on a media tour that reached 2,000 radio stations and network affiliates and 5 million listeners;
  • Worked directly with states to fight against reductions in insurance benefits that would impact those with diabetes; and
  • Secured Congressional support for federally-funded diabetes research and prevention programs.
Check out our complete list of advocacy accomplishments in 2011 – again, none of this would have been possible without you!
Please take a moment to join us on Facebook. Together, we can build on our achievements in 2011 to make 2012 an even better year for the millions of children and adults with diabetes who are counting on us to protect their interests and continue to fight this deadly disease.
As I end my reign as the Chair of the Board, I want to thank you again for all your support and wish you and yours a very happy and healthy new year, which means we will be one step closer to realizing our efforts to Stop Diabetes!
Sincerely,
John Griffin Jr.

Thank you from Feeding America!

This was thoughtful of Feeding America to send me this letter....

Dear Angie,
On behalf of the nearly 49 million Americans struggling with hunger, Feeding America thanks you for your tireless advocacy efforts this past year.

In 2011, several harmful proposals emerged in Congress that would have cut funding for programs that put food on the table for hungry Americans.

Each of these proposals was defeated because advocates like you stepped up to urge Congress not to balance the budget on the backs of hungry Americans.

Congress listened. Your voice was heard

Together, we sent more than 19,700 emails and made over 4,000 phone calls at just the right times to make our elected officials understand the importance of protecting programs that feed hungry Americans. In fact, thanks to you, we even saw a slight increase in funding for the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), which will help put food onto our food banks’ depleted shelves.

Now as we look forward to the battles ahead, we take strength in knowing that our united voices can make a difference.

Again, thank you for everything you have done to support Feeding America. We urge you to stay vigilant as we face new and continued challenges and opportunities in 2012 and beyond.
Working together, we are Feeding America.

Happy holidays and best wishes,

Vicki Escarra

Obama Following the Bush Doctrin!

Obama is leading the war in Afghanistan!

PAY ATTENTION! WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?

Please tell me the difference between Bush and the Iraq/Afghanistan War and Obama and the Afghanistan/Libya war? Why is the liberals not condemning Obama? It just shows that Liberals will politicize the war and disregard the men and women who died while serving the military. Obama's quote is very similar to what Bush said in 2003. Yes Liberals, believe it or not, Obama is leading the war against Libya!

MARCH 19, 2011
OBAMA: 'Today we are part of a broad coalition. We are answering the calls of a threatened people. And we are acting in the interests of the United States and the world'...

MARCH 19, 2003
BUSH: 'American and coalition forces are in the early stages of military operations to disarm Iraq, to free its people and to defend the world from grave danger'...

Thank you for this posting on your blog. I was trying to find the words to do this and you helped me, good job! I hope this explains some facts to more people following the current events of today.

Oppose Bill H.R. 2055 Restricts Benefits To Vietnam Vets

H.R. 2055: Military Construction & Veterans Affairs.

Agencies Appropriations Act, 2012

Summary: Making appropriations for military construction, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and related agencies for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2012, and for other purposes. (More Info)

Oppose Amendment to MilCon/VA Spending Bill (HR 2055) Senator Coburn (Ok.) has filed an amendment (#564) to the Military Construction/ Veterans Affairs Appropriations bill (HR 2055) that will require a "causal relationship" for presumption for service connection for diseases associated with Agent Orange exposure that will significantly restrict benefits to Vietnam veterans. Vietnam veterans are presumed to be exposed to Agent Orange if they have certain conditions or diseases after the VA determines that a positive association exists between the exposure and the occurrence of the disease. Congress chose this mechanism because it is nearly impossible for Vietnam veterans to prove that exposure to Agent Orange caused their disease. Requiring a "causal relationship" would essentially mean that VA benefits for Agent Orange exposure would be out of reach for many Vietnam veterans that were exposed to the Agent Orange herbicide.

The Administration

The Administration 1,210,683 Facebook fans 2,536,321 Twitter followers
STATEMENT OF ADMINISTRATION POLICY
The Administration supports House passage of H.R. 2055, making appropriations for military construction, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and related agencies for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2012, and for other purposes. The Administration is committed to ensuring the Nation lives within its means and reducing the deficit so that the Nation can compete in the global economy and win the future. That is why the President put forth a comprehensive fiscal framework that reduces the deficit by $4 trillion, supports economic growth and long-term job creation, protects critical investments, and meets the commitments made to provide dignity and security to Americans no matter their circumstances.
While overall funding limits and subsequent allocations remain unclear pending the outcome of ongoing bipartisan, bicameral discussions between the Administration and congressional leadership on the Nation's long-term fiscal picture, a number of problematic policy and language issues have been included in the bill as follows: Military Construction. The Administration appreciates the Committee's support for critical Military Construction projects but is concerned with the use of incremental funding that would not support usable segments for the following projects: Aviation Complex, Fort Wainwright, Alaska; Mountainview Operations Center, Buckley Air Force Base, Colorado; Ambulatory Care Center, Joint Base Andrews, Maryland; and Guam Strike Fuel Systems Maintenance Hangar, Joint Region Marianas, Guam. Incremental funding of Military Construction runs counter to sound budgeting principles and fiscal discipline.
Implementation of Force Management Initiatives. The Administration is concerned with the inclusion of two provisions that limit the ability of the Department of Defense to undertake force management actions, including previously approved Base Realignment and Closure actions. The authority to execute these force management actions allows the Department to more efficiently allocate scarce resources during a time of conflict. Constitutional Concerns. Section 113 is phrased in a manner that could be construed to require the Executive Branch, without discretion, to notify the Congress 30 days in advance of certain military exercises, which would intrude on the President's discharge of his Constitutional authorities and duties to protect national security. The Administration recommends revising section 113 to make explicit that 30 days advance notice to the Congress is required where feasible and consistent with the President's constitutional responsibilities to protect national security.
Project Labor Agreements. The Administration strongly opposes the provision prohibiting the enforcement of Executive Order 13502 (and implementing issuances) on the use of project labor agreements. The use of a Project Labor Agreement (PLA) can provide structure and stability to large construction projects. PLAs also help ensure compliance with laws and regulations governing workplace safety and health, equal employment opportunity and labor and employment standards. The coordination achieved through PLAs can significantly enhance the economy and efficiency of Federal construction projects.
The Administration strongly opposes inclusion of ideological and political provisions that are beyond the scope of funding legislation. Should the Congress continue to include language that is not relevant to a funding debate, the Administration will oppose the bill. The Administration looks forward to working with the Congress as the fiscal year 2012 appropriations process moves forward.

Christmas for a 3 year old is like his 1st ever!

My grandson is 3 this Christmas & so excited, almost like it's his 1st Christmas!

Yesterday I posted a baby's first Christmas poem for my granddaughter and just couldn't resist going back a couple of years and making a baby's first Christmas poem for my grandson who is 3 this year. Even though AJ is 3 years old and it's obviously not his first Christmas you would think it was by his excitement over it. When we are in the stores and he sees decorations for sale and displays of Christmas trees he just has to go and see "Christmas" as he calls it. I can be pushing the cart with him in the back and I hear "Grandma Christmas, Christmas Grandma" as he's pointing toward the decorated trees. It is so wonderful to see Christmas through a 3 year old little boys eyes. When we are driving after dark and pass by houses decorated with lights and Santa on a roof top, again I hear "Christmas Grandma" and at that moment any worries I may have had in mind disappear and the world is perfect for that minute. He says Santa Claus is bringing him a monster truck and hot wheels cars. I asked him if he was going to go tell Santa what he wanted when he came to the mall or did he want to write him a letter-well he chose the letter, can't say I blame him. If you get the chance to celebrate Christmas with your children or grandchildren make sure you take a minute to see it through their eyes, you will be so happy you did.
Merry Christmas AJ, Grandma loves you very much!

Baby's First Christmas, 2011!

This Christmas is my granddaughter's 1st.
Abbygail Lyla at the age of 9 months will be enjoying her first Christmas this year with her big brother AJ who is 3 years old. She will be surrounded by her loving family, most important is her Mommy Ashley & her Daddy Alan. Abby's extended family is going to enjoy watching Christmas through a darling baby girl's eyes and loving every minute of it. I know I will be there for every second of all the joy my two wonderful grand children will bring to our holiday season and our lives forever. Christmas is always so much more special with little ones running around and laughing with no care in the world just pure happiness. I will cherish these moments forever and always remember to hug them, love them and see all the beautiful wonders of the world as they see them.

Wikipedia Considering Blackout to Oppose SOPA!

Does a blank Wikipedia send a strong message?

While some members of the entertainment industry believe that without the help of SOPA, the future of content distribution is in doubt, other members of the tech industry have a different perspective. In fact, a number of tech giants are taking the exact opposite approach of their entertainment industry counterparts. That is, while they don’t support the idea of piracy, they do not approve of how SOPA goes about policing the web’s content.

Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales is considering a site-wide “blank out” of Wikipedia’s pages. Is this approach too extreme or is Wales correct in his anti-SOPA stance. Thoughts? Reactions? Share them in the comments.

Consider NBC Universal’s approach, one that includes an edict of support SOPA or we’ll have serious issues distributing content from those who don’t. That’s right, NBC threatened their content suppliers with a “support SOPA or else” threat, representing a position that’s similar to blackmail. Apparently that’s business as usual in the corporate world, but there is hope. As indicated, not every tech industry giant is falling in step with SOPA/PIPA, including such big names like Google, Facebook, Twitter and Yahoo, companies that are diametrically opposed to how SOPA works.

Now, you can add Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales to the anti-SOPA pile. Wales and Wikipedia are so against the ideas set forth by SOPA — mainly, the censorship aspect — they are considering blacking Wikipedia out as a method of protest; and when I say “blacking out,” I mean turning all of the Wikipedia pages blank, as in, no content, in an effort to show just how how much Wikipedia opposes the idea of censorship.

To facilitate his idea, Wales posted a suggestion on his User Talk Wikipedia page, and it, in no uncertain terms, lays out Wales’ position. His statement is below in blockquote form, and he invites other Wikipedia members and users to respond to his makeshift poll:

A few months ago, the Italian Wikipedia community made a decision to blank all of Italian Wikipedia for a short period in order to protest a law which would infringe on their editorial independence. The Italian Parliament backed down immediately. As Wikipedians may or may not be aware, a much worse law going under the misleading title of “Stop Online Piracy Act’ is working its way through Congress on a bit of a fast track.

I may be attending a meeting at the White House on Monday (pending confirmation on a couple of fronts) along with executives from many other top Internet firms, and I thought this would be a good time to take a quick reading of the community feeling on this issue. My own view is that a community strike was very powerful and successful in Italy and could be even more powerful in this case.

There are obviously many questions about whether the strike should be geotargetted (US-only), etc. (One possible view is that because the law would seriously impact the functioning of Wikipedia for everyone, a global strike of at least the English Wikipedia would put the maximum pressure on the US government.) At the same time, it’s of course a very very big deal to do something like this, it is unprecedented for English Wikipedia.

While a great deal of the responses are of the “Support” or “Firmly Support,” there are a number who of users who are opposed to the way Wikipedia is planning on protesting SOPA; although, many who opposed Wales’ postion did so because they don’t want Wikipedia getting involved in political issues.

An example:

Oppose, really bad idea. Blanking the site for a political purpose, even one that helps Wiki, is using power over content for advocacy. It’s in the same class as deleting an article that might help a candidate or cause some subset of us don’t like. Yes, not as egrigious…but in the same class. (And there will be some subset of Wikipedians that support SOPA. Heck, I hear they even let Republicans edit this site, occasionally.)

General Information About Sagittarius:
Sagittarius is an astrological sign, which is associated with the constellation Sagittarius. Under the tropical zodiac, Sagittarius is occupied by the Sun from November 22 to December 21, and under the sidereal zodiac, it is currently from December 16 to January 14. The opposite sign to Sagittarius is Gemini. Sagittarius is the ninth sign of the Zodiac. The corresponding month in the Babylonian calendar is Arax Kislimu, dedicated to Nergal.

Mythology:
In mythology Sagittarius is often associated with the mythological figure of Chiron, a centaur who taught and tutored various heroes in Greek myth. In Greek mythology, centaurs were adventurous, brave, and wise, but they were also given to brawling and uncivilized behavior. Sagittarius is also associated with the Greco–Roman god Zeus/Jupiter and sometimes the goddess Tyche/Fortuna, as well as the Norse god Thor.

Characteristics:
Sagittarius is the 9th sign of the zodiac and is popularly associated with being optimistic, wise, restless, genius, enthusiastic, adventurous, artistic, honest, outspoken, and independent. Sagittarians have a positive outlook on life, are full of enterprise, energy, versatility, adventurousness & eagerness to extend experience beyond the physically familiar. They enjoy traveling and exploration, because their minds are constantly open to new dimensions of thought. They are basically ambitious and optimistic, and continue to be so even when their hopes are dashed. Their strongly idealistic natures can also suffer many disappointments without being affected. They are honorable, honest, trustworthy, truthful, generous and sincere, with a passion for justice. They may be on the side of the underdog in society they will fight for any cause they believe to be just, and they tend to be rebellious.

Although generally easygoing, Sagittarius is a fire sign, so Sagittarians typically have a quick temper, but they are usually quick to forget what got them angry in the first place. Sagittarians are forthright communicators, and restless, which can lead to them being reluctant to taking orders." Sagittarians are known for spontaneous philosophical ramblings, and don’t seem to get bogged down in emotional complexities. They have both profound and wide–ranging minds, equipped with foresight and good judgment, and they can be witty conversationalists. They love to initiate new projects (they make excellent researchers), and have an urge to understand concepts that are new to them. They think at lightning speed and quickly make decisions. They are strong–willed and good at organizing, a combination that gives them the ability to bring any project they undertake to a successful conclusion. Their generosity can be balanced by their extreme care at handling their resources.

Sagittarians are usually held to have a strong love of freedom, and a disdain for routine. Often associated with frankness, Sagittarians do not hesitate to give an honest opinion, which can seem tactless at times – although rarely is their intention to be cruel. The same mind that shows tactlessness can be a beacon of light in confusing times. Leave it to a Sagittarius to step into a messy tangle and sum up the situation with blinding clarity. They’ll be willing to say the truth when all others hide in confusion. This makes them invaluable friends that can guide you back to the clear path when you need honesty rather than enablers. Sagittarians may strive for maximum enjoyment in life, but too much of a good thing can be problematic, and prudence is difficult for most Sagittarians to acquire. Being overly spiritual or too philosophical, for example, can make them out of touch with the real world. They can also be kiddish and innocent. Though they are blessed with a dynamic mind of high standards, they often mistake love for friendship, and this is one of the most vulnerable areas of Sagittarius. They often find it hard to tell lies, and it's better if they tell the truth. As they are creative and innovative, they may develop an attitude of degrading anything that is old and traditional. Another negative point about Sagittarius is procrastination. In astrology Sagittarius is ruled by the planet Jupiter. The Indian equivalent of Sagittarius is Dhanus; the Chinese equivalent is the Rat.

Relationships:
In personal relationships, Sagittarians are reliable and devoted, but quickly shy away from situations where they consider themselves to be mistreated or misunderstood. This being said, that often leaves others feeling embittered and resentful, when in reality it's better for them to just move on to healthier situations. Same being true in love, Sagittarians are ardent, sincere and straightforward. In marriage Sagittarians are devoted and reliable; they will be faithful spouses (Sagittarius, if having made a commitment, is one of the few signs that will willingly and happily stay in a relationship out of loyalty alone) and indulgent loving parents. But their innate restlessness may sometimes inspire them to set out on their travels, even in the most satisfying of marriages. They need to feel free and are often faced with the choice of allowing their careers to take over their lives for the benefit of — and sometimes at the expense — of the love of their spouse and family. The ideal partner for the Sagittarian is above all a friend, and a partner in life’s great adventure, someone who understands their needs: A true free spirit. There is an often reported physicality to Sagittarians that gets them involved in vigorous athletics and bold travel adventures. They bring this flexibility to the bedroom, and that lusty, anything–goes attitude can cause them to take a walk on the wild side. Generally quite easygoing, Sagittarians make friends with people from all walks of life. They love to laugh and tease, and get along well with both sexes.
